Dear Friends and Supporters,
We need your help!
As we leave June and launch into July, I’ve been thinking a lot about Independence Day, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence as well as the birth of our great nation. Adopting and signing the Declaration of Independence was an act of courage; our fledgling nation had already been at war for over a year. On the 4th of July, we honor those who have had the courage to fight for our nation.
June is National PTSD Awareness Month, which is a time to honor the strength of those living with post-traumatic stress disorder and raise awareness about the realities they face every day. While many of us associate PTSD primarily with veterans or first responders, PTSD can impact literally anyone who has experienced or witnessed a serious accident, assault, or other deeply disturbing event, and it takes resilience and strength to overcome the after-effects of traumatic event.
HELP IS POSSIBLE! The Center has been working to ensure all of our therapeutic team is fully trained in effective treatments for PTSD. This year, we received support from The Great Charity Challenge as well as Impact the Palm Beaches to train our therapists on an innovative treatment for PTSD called Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) to our community.
If someone you know is affected by PTSD, please feel free to reach out to us.
Now, we need YOUR help. The grants for training were a start, but to continue this work helping all in Palm Beach County who have been impacted by trauma, we need your support. Please consider donating to continue this important workThank you for your continued support. Together, we make a difference.
Sincerely,
Todd L’Herrou, CEO
