Stop Abuse Family Empowerment (S.A.F.E.) specializes in treating individuals and families impacted by sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, and child witness to domestic violence. In addition, we provide treatment for sexually abused reactive children (SARC), adults molested as children (AMAC), and and individuals and families impacted by rape/sexual assault and other crimes such as stalking and trafficking.
Therapists are trained in various evidenced based and empirically supported treatments such as Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Therapists are trained in skills such as play, art and various other activities to engage children as young as three in therapeutic services.
Stop Abuse Family Empowerment (S.A.F.E.) goals are to promote safety, stabilize emotional and behavioral symptoms, and improve family cohesion in order to end the cycle of abuse or violence and enhance positive coping skills.
The S.A.F.E. program offers safety planning, psychoeducation, individual, family and group therapy, and linkage and referral services. S.A.F.E. provides services in office and via telehealth, in English, Spanish, and Creole.
