This photo was inspired by the blind guitar player I was photographing when a voice rang out from a distance, “I need to be in the photo!” Moments later, the woman in the red dress jumped into the frame, and snap – “La Chancletera” came to life!
Victor Manuel Figueredo brings more than 30 years of experience to Koi Design Group, the West Palm Beach–based interior design firm he founded in 2005. Specializing in interiors that blend contemporary and traditional aesthetics, Victor creates comfortable, functional spaces accented with global influences and signature splashes of color that reflect the environment and convey a sense of place. His design philosophy begins with a deep appreciation for each client’s vision and personality, supported by an unmatched ability to source sustainable, luxurious materials.
Victor’s passion for art, photography, and family also inspired A Journey of Photos—an intimate collection capturing the authenticity and spirit of Cuban life. His black-and-white photographs celebrate the simplicity and nobility of his cultural roots, a connection deepened during his 1998 return to Cuba, which ABC News chronicled in a two-part Special Assignment segment. The emotional reunion with his aunt, who had kept the red shirt he wore when he left Cuba as a toddler, remains one of the most meaningful moments of his life.
Eternally grateful to have shared that experience with his parents, Victor continues to draw on his heritage, artistry, and sense of place in every design he creates.
